As a proud mother of a recent college graduate, Genise understands that raising healthy children with good values is the key to creating productive citizens. With Missouri unemployment rates at 9.6% Genise believes that job creation must be THE number one priority for Missouri's families. Genise supports bringing sustainable jobs that pay a living wage, utilize our state's assets, and provide competitive employment opportunities. Genise understands that to succeed economically we need to focus on business retention, expansion, and recruitment. We also need to maintain a trained work force, focus on innovation in high tech and green jobs, expand travel and tourism, and develop strong communities.

Her father, Gene Chumbler, is a retired member of Ironworkers Local 396, as well as a former president and business agent. While growing up Genise and her family faced layoffs, unemployment, work injuries, and family separation as her father at times needed to travel for work. She is committed to protecting workers’ rights such as the right to organize, collective bargaining and fair wages in Jefferson City.
